Nick Yelloly claimed pole position for Inter Europol Competition in qualifying for the 4 Hours of Le Castellet, the second round of the European Le Mans Series.
The English driver posted a 1:48.741 on his final lap in the No. 43 Oreca 07 Gibson, edging out Charles Milesi (VDS Panis Racing) by 0.235s.
Matteo Cairoli, fastest in both free practice sessions, was third in the No. 9 Iron Lynx-Proton Oreca, 0.268s off the pace.
Mathys Jaubert continued his strong LMP2 debut with fourth for IDEC Sport, ahead of Luca Ghiotto in the second Inter Europol car. Tom Blomqvist (CLX Pure Rxcing) was sixth, narrowly ahead of Paul-Loup Chatin (IDEC Sport). Reshad de Gerus (Duqueine), who took pole in Barcelona, qualified eighth.
Hyett beats Roda to Pro-Am pole
PJ Hyett took LMP2 Pro-Am pole in the No. 99 AO by TF Oreca after a close battle with Giorgio Roda (Proton Competition). Hyett’s 1:51.442 put him 0.144s clear, with Rodrigo Sales (TDS Racing) third, 0.911s adrift. Georgios Kolovos (DKR Engineering) secured fourth with a late flyer.
Aston Martin and CLX secure class poles
Clement Mateu gave Aston Martin its first LMGT3 pole of the season, leading throughout in the No. 59 Racing Spirit of Leman Vantage GT3 Evo. His 2:04.641 put him 0.723s ahead of Duncan Cameron (Spirit of Race Ferrari), with Martin Berry (Iron Lynx Mercedes-AMG) third after track limits issues.
Berry briefly dipped under Mateu’s time before the Aston Martin improved by four tenths on its final lap. Andrew Gilbert (Kessel Ferrari) took fifth, ahead of Celia Martin (Iron Dames Porsche).
Adrien Closmenil (CLX Motorsport) dominated LMP3 qualifying with a 1:57.194 in the No. 17 Ligier, 0.925s clear of Rik Koen (Team Virage). Griffin Peebles (WTM by Rinaldi Duqueine) was third, just inside a second of the benchmark. Ian Aguilera (Eurointernational) and Gillian Henrion (RLR M Sport) completed the top five, ahead of early leader Quentin Antonel (M Racing).
