It’s a celebration of all things fast from the past in the annual Historic Leguna Seca Historic meeting. This year’s event holds a special attraction with this years event playing host to Formula 5000, attracting a number of Aussie and Kiwi drivers and cars to the famous track.
In Pit Lane guests of the past like Chas Talbot, Peter Brennan, Paul Zazryn, Bill Hemming and the one and only Dean Camm will be among the field that also includes McLaren F1 boss Zak Brown in his ex Alan Jones Lola T332.
The field is dominated by Lola’s but with Hemming’s Elfin and Phillip Lewis in his ex Johhny Walker Matich A50 the down under history of the class has not been forgotten.
Also making an appearance will be the larger than life presence of good friend of the show George Vidovic in his Can-Am McLaren M6B.
In the Trans-Am reunion it’s a classic Mustang vs Camaro vs Javelin fight with the odd Firebird and Challenger thrown in for good measure and even a Pontiac Tempest GTO.
If all those F5000s wasn’t enough, then there’s a large field of classic F1 cars from the 70s and 80’s plus IMSA and WEC Group C cars as well.
It’s a line up of the like that we will never see down under so it’s probably well worth staying up for.
