Four-time Formula One World Champion Max Verstappen returns to the Nürburgring Nordschleife tonight for Round 2 of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, as part of his build-up to a debut at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring later this year.
Verstappen will again race under the Verstappen Racing banner in a Mercedes-AMG GT3, sharing the car with established GT and endurance specialists Lucas Auer, Jules Gounon and Daniel Juncadella. The quartet combines factory Mercedes-AMG experience with recent top-level prototype credentials, making the entry a genuine contender in the top SP9/GT3 class.
This race marks a key step in Verstappen’s endurance racing programme. He previously secured his Nordschleife permit and claimed victory in an NLS round in 2025, underlining his adaptability to GT3 machinery and the unique demands of the 25-kilometre combined circuit.
The second round features a large and competitive field of more than 130 cars, with the SP9 class again expected to decide outright honours.
Konrad Motorsport fields a Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo driven by Christian Engelhart and Maximilian Paul, bringing proven GT3 race-winning experience to the front of the field.
Porsche representation includes multiple entries such as Goroyan RT by Car Collection, while BMW squads including Black Falcon-backed efforts add further depth, ensuring a multi-manufacturer fight at the front.
With limited track time before May’s 24-hour race, tonight’s four-hour contest is critical for Verstappen and his team to refine race procedures, traffic management and Nordschleife-specific strategy against some of the most experienced GT3 crews in the world.
