This is it.Or is it? Honda’s US luxury and high performance brand Acura have unveiled testing footage of the new Penske run Acura ARX 05 testing at Paul Ricard in France.
Based on the P2 ORECA 07 chassis, the new ARX-05 prototype features Acura-specific bodywork and the race-proven, production-based Acura AR35TT twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine.
The car is scheduled to make it’s official race debut at next year’s Daytona 24 hours where it will be joined by other major manufacturers like GM (Cadillac), Mazda and Nissan.
This is stark contrast to the situation in the FIA World Endurance Championship where the withdrawal of Porsche could mean only Toyota is left in the premiere LMP1-H class.
